Leslie W. O’Ryan, Ed.D., NCC, LCPC, is a professor in the Department of Counselor Education at Western Illinois University. She teaches graduate courses in the areas of Career Counseling, Counseling Across the Lifespan and in the Clinical course sequence. She has worked in the field of clinical mental health counseling for 31 years. Her scholarly program falls under the broad umbrella of spirituality and aging, with an emphasis in the areas of deep ecology, eco-counseling and intercultural counseling. She is recognized for her contributions to the field in the area of gay and lesbian issues where she was the recipient of an award for an article she co-authored in the area of dual career issues for gay and lesbian dual career issues.
